En Astronomie, la parallaxe est the displacement of the apparent position (of a celestial body) due to the change of position of the observer and, in optics, the angle of two optical axes aiming at the same object.

Comme autant de poupées russes (les différents axes de vision), Parallaxe comes from the solo part of Lignes de loin, a work for guitar and ensemble which itself develops the potential contained in In perspective, three short learning works for guitar and a percussionist.

_cc781905-5cde-3194 -bb3b-136bad5cf58d_The various "vanishing points" are the different stylistic and technical perspectives of the guitar, a deeply rooted instrument whose millennial past, and whose present is as popular as it is scholarly. Parallaxe is in fact characterized by various techniques and modes of play from European and non-European cultures which are so many "open doors" to other ways of making the guitar sound: from classical to jazz, via the ud in the Arab-Persian culture, improvisation and flamenco.

De variantes en variantes/ transformations of the motifs, the form of the work constantly folds in on itself. This form, which I call "spiral", contributes to creating an ever-changing world where the many constituent motifs, with well-differentiated characters and characteristics, collide, intertwine and intersect to form a sort of complex soundscape. , abundant, constantly changing and profoundly nocturnal.

L'écoute de cette work, where nothing settles, stays in place and constantly varies, implies a sensitivity to the smallest and most constant changes in color, modes of play and density.
