Games of Fabrics and Desires is part of the centenary of Claude Debussy's famous sonata for the same ensemble, written in 1915. The theme of the premiere concert was entitled Mystery and Secret.

This trio - in five parts linked without interruptions - develops a fragmentary, colorful, light and undulating writing, related to the compositional processes of Debussy and the spirit of the poems of Stéphane Mallarmé. Like a tribute that does not say its name, certain elements borrowed from Debussy's sonata - motifs in their own right here - can be discerned.

“The French spirit” is often defined by purity, modesty, refinement, if not a certain preciousness. In Games of Fabrics and Desires, this spirit reveals itself in lightness, almost nothing, unveiling and erasures, suspensions and silences, and timbres rich in shades and colors. The elliptical and moving shape constantly changes atmosphere; they are short moments of “playing/timbral mode polyphony”. From time to time - like proliferating plant motifs - the music escapes for a moment in aerial flights towards a beyond to better fall back and start again: broken impulses (joy/sadness), return to the same motifs (folds, folds, confusion).

The title refers to the world of fashion whose Parisian parades are the quintessence of the French spirit throughout the world: luxury, calm and voluptuousness...
